Tayyaba Syed is an award-winning author who has written 20+ book titles, including Encyclopedia Britannica. As a journalist, her bylines have been in numerous publications such as NPR. She volunteers for Daybreak Press as an Author Coach and Research Specialist, teaches writing to communities everywhere, and performs as a fun storyteller. She also worked as a Creative Developer for Noor Kids educational books. Her debut children’s book “The Blessed Bananas” has won three gold seals in literary awards.

I recently came across Tayyaba Syed after my girls were enthralled with the book series“Jannah Jewels” by Umm Nura.

Four of the books in the series were co-authored by Tayyaba.

 

It’s not often you can find great books for older kids that are not only written by a Muslim author, but feature Muslim characters.
